After attempting to use the commonly available wire piercing guide finger saver I came to the realization that it was a piece of junk. A friend bought one off of the tool truck and paid close to $30 for it. The first time he used it, the thing fell apart in his hand. I tinkered with it for a bit and tried it myself and it fell apart again. Also the voids for the wire probe are much to small for any of the higher quality probes. After two replacements he gave up and got his money back.
So I designed a new one from the ground up. This is a 3d printed part. It will not be a perfectly smooth finish. They will have some layer lines present. We do clean them up some but getting a polished finish is unnecessary.
These no prick wire probe clips are printed out of high quality ABS in order to provide a long lasting durable product. After they are printed, a layer of clear coat is applied to keep grease and grime from permeating the ABS plastic. As of now the only color available is white. We will update when more colors are available.
Our finger saver measures, 60mm long by 20mm wide by 20mm tall. We use a high quality compression spring along with stainless steel machine screw and lock nut for the pivot pin. Just when comparing that to the plastic pin on the other brand’s and we beat them hands down.
- ABS Plastic
- Stainless hardware
- Three different wire size guides
- Large holes for the wire probe.
- Front area larger to allow a pinch hold to help secure the wire.
